Classical Ballet
Concentrates on correct body alignment, breathing, stretching, and ballet vocabulary. Ballet classes teach proper body alignment while building muscle strength, flexibility, grace and poise. Ballet technique is the foundation for all forms of dance. It is strongly recommended that all students continue to study ballet in addition to other forms of dance.
Lyrical
A poetic style of dance that interprets the lyrics or the mood of the music.
Modern/Contemporary Dance
Classes will be based on the techniques of Graham and Dunham. These classes are for the middle school age students and up.
Theatre Dance
Broadway theatre dance consisting of choreography to Broadway musicals, tap technique, lyric theatre dance, and production type routines. For intermediate level dancers who are age 9-12 and 13 and up.
Combination
This course combines the techniques of ballet and tap with an introduction to jazz and gymnastics for the beginner to intermediate level student. For ages 6 - 11 years old. Students are grouped according to age and ability.
Kinderdance
For the 5 year old student with emphasis on elementary Ballet and Tap with some tumbling and an introduction to Jazz.
Pre-School Combination
For the 3 and 4 year old students with emphasis on creative dance, rhythms, ballet and tap exercises, novelty songs and dances, simple ballet terms, stretching and limbering exercises, and an introduction to acrobatics.
Tumble Bear Gym
A class for toddlers and a parent to work and have fun at the same time. The program includes well planned play activities with the emphasis on dance, gymnastics, exercise, balance, flexibility, strength, rhythm, creative play, parachute activities and novelty songs and dances.
Gymnastics
A combination of tumbling skills from the techniques of acrobatics and gymnastic, low balance beam and mini tramp skills, stretching, limbering and strengthening exercises, plus choreographed routines for a complete fitness program. Students are placed according to age and ability. Minimum age of 5 years old.
Baton
This class consists of pom pon and baton skills, routines, stretching and limbering exercises and tumbling.
Ballroom
A ten (10) week ballroom course will feature the traditional Foxtrot, Swing, Waltz, Slow Dance, Rumba and Cha Cha. This course is open to teenagers and adults. Class size is limited to assure that each student receives individual attention.
Specialty classes offered throughout the dance season such as: Clogging, Hula, etc.
